Custom Suits in Indianapolis
Tailored Society builds custom suits for men throughout Indianapolis from our Carmel studio. We draft a fresh pattern for your body at the start of every suit, then build the garment by hand at every stage. We see clients by appointment across Indianapolis, Fishers, Zionsville, Westfield, and Noblesville.
Custom, Made-to-Measure, and True Bespoke
“Custom” just means shaped to your body instead of pulled off a rack. An off-the-rack suit fits your shoulders or your waist, but never both. A made-to-measure suit only adjusts a size that was never built for you.
True bespoke starts from an original pattern drafted for your body alone, built entirely by hand. Tailored Society drafts a pattern from your measurements alone, then cuts and sews it by hand at every stage, so the suit is built for the man standing in front of us.
| Feature | True Bespoke | Rush (Made-to-Measure) |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | An original pattern drafted for your body alone | An existing block pattern adjusted to your measurements |
| Construction | Built entirely by hand | Machine-assisted construction |
| Timeline | Four to six months, with two fittings | About two weeks |
| Best for | A client who wants the closest fit achievable and values the process itself | A client who needs a well-made suit fast |
How a Bespoke Suit Comes Together
The four-to-six month timeline reflects the work itself.
| Step | Timeline | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1. First appointment | Week 1 | We take measurements and observe how you stand and carry yourself: details a tape measure alone can't catch. |
| 2. Basted fitting | Around week 5 | You try on a rough test garment cut from your new pattern, which shows what needs correcting before any good fabric gets touched. |
| 3. Cutting | Weeks 5 to 24 | We revise the pattern from that fitting, then our tailors cut your actual garment. |
| 4. Second fitting | Weeks 16 to 25 | We correct for the way fabric shifts under the heat and steam of construction. |
| 5. Finishing | Final week | Our in-house tailor completes the remaining details. |
Understanding Your Investment
You’ve built a career that puts you in rooms your wardrobe hasn’t caught up with. Maybe you’re stepping into more client meetings, more speaking engagements, or more rooms where people size you up before you speak. You need a garment that speaks to that audience.
A Bespoke suit at Tailored Society starts at $2,550. Every quote covers the same process: your own pattern, built by hand, and backed by two fittings.

Frequently Asked Questions
I've never ordered a custom suit before. What if I don't know what I want?
Most first-time clients arrive without a clear idea, and that’s the normal starting point. Our role is to guide you through fabric, fit, and detail decisions based on what suits your build and how you’ll wear the garment.
I travel constantly for work. Can I realistically commit to a process that takes months?
Yes. The four-to-six month timeline runs in the background on our side. You’re only in the studio for two fittings during that window, and we work around your travel schedule to set them.
Is a well-known suit brand a safer bet than a tailor I haven't heard of?
Not necessarily. A recognizable name reflects what that company decided to charge, not a guarantee of how well the garment is made. A hand-drafted pattern and hours of hand construction are what determine quality.
Can you build my wedding suit?
Yes. Many of our bespoke clients order their wedding suit through us. Start the process well ahead of your date, since the four-to-six-month bespoke timeline needs room to run.
What happens if the suit needs adjustments after I've worn it for a while?
Reach out, and we’ll get you back in for a look. Fit can shift slightly over time, and addressing it early keeps the garment performing the way it did at your final fitting.
